Applying For A Grant

"So, why would people donate to us?" a friend asked us as the foundation commenced, "why wouldn't they donate directly to the charities we work with?".

We bring to the table so much more than a random donation:
 

• Our hands-on approach.  We don't just 'cut cheques'.  We sit with our target charities and drill them for all they're worth to work out which of their programs has greatest impact (or what new programs they need to have!?) and what is limiting them in resources.  We have rejected charities that are not able (structurally or personality-wise) to receive outside help beyond the dollars or not able to report back the data needed to evaluate their work.  For those with whom we work, it becomes a meaningful and long-term relationship. 
   
• The collective knowledge & wisdom of our team. Our directors bring to the table some unique therapy skills in the fields of attachment and resilience, in addition to high-level experience of project evaluation in mental health environments.  Other directors have had significant success in online-based processes/tools to help maximise the flow of information about a program amongst those that manage it.  It might sound arrogant, but we believe we are better able to recognise programs that will have significant, individual impact on youth, than a lot of 'cheque book' donors out there. 
   
• Our social & professional network.  We personally operate across a diverse range of cultural and business activities, with links to private family offices, social enterprise (startup) groups, the SaaS ('cloud') software world and the mental health sector.  We are happy to knock on the door of politicians and ask our professional associates to contribute pro/low bono goods & services to help us in our work.  Our foundation is a member of philanthropic associations and also participates with or alongside private 'giving circles' to further social-proof our work.  We treat getting the programs done, personally!
